Flour 2 cups
Butter 1 cup
Brown sugar 1/2 cup
Egg yolk 1
Vanilla 1 tsp
Baking soda 1 tsp
1. Cream butter and add sugar. Blend thoroughly, and add egg yolk and vanilla. Sift flour and baking soda, combine with butter mixture and blend thoroughly.
2. On a lightly-floured board, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut in desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
3. Bake in preheated oven at 300° F for 15 minutes or until light brown.
