Kids' contest winners
Thanks to everyone who entered the CWB's "Spaghetti Farmer" contest. The contest invited Canadian children 12 and under to send a thank-you message to farmers who grow Canada Western Amber Durum wheat -- the type of wheat used to make delicious pasta.
The contest was launched to coincide with World Pasta Day on October 25. Western Canadian spaghetti farmers are the largest exporters of durum in the world. In fact, people in more than 40 countries eat pasta and couscous made from Prairie durum.
The entries show that kids right across Canada love spaghetti - and are very thankful to spaghetti farmers for growing durum wheat.
Danica Finlay, 9, Vanguard, SK, is our grand prize winner. Danica receives a Nintendo® Wii, a $100 gift certificate from The Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant and a case of GrainWise pasta from Primo Foods.
