Detailed maps estimating 2010 midge emergence patterns in Western Canada are now available on weatherfarm.com.
WeatherFarm is a free, online weather information centre designed exclusively for Prairie farmers. Its innovative agronomic tools can make your farm-management decisions easier. Online registration is quick and easy, and you do not need to own a weather station to use the online WeatherFarm centre.
The midge maps use an innovative agronomic modelling application developed by the CWB, building on work done by researchers at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Saskatoon and the University of Manitoba. The models use weather data from the CWB-WeatherBug network and Environment Canada.
