Defer payments
Don't need a portion of your income in this tax year? It's easy to defer a payment from the CWB.
Defer early, well before the payment is issued. This is the safest way to ensure you receive your payments in your preferred tax year.
- Access e-Services to quickly defer cheques online.
- Call 1-800-275-4292 with your PIN and ID number. A Farm Business Team member can assist you in deferring one or more cheques.
- Print, fill out, and mail or fax in the CWB payment deferral form.
Deferral is available for farmers using direct deposit and those who receive cheques.
Your deferred cheque will be sent near your deferral date. Call 1-800-275-4292 to request a post-dated cheque.
If you change your mind about a deferral, simply call us to issue your payment.
Setting your deferral instructions in advance not only avoids the hassle and delay of mailing cheques back to the CWB, it reduces the administrative costs of processing, printing and mailing these cheques multiple times.
