2011-12 program

The CWB Identity Preserved Contract Program (IPCP) has two components:

  • Market-development IPCP is designed to develop domestic and international markets for varieties of western Canadian wheat and durum by allowing the CWB to test-market new varieties with customers.
  • Commercial IPCP is designed to meet specific customer requirements for varieties which have established markets. This year there are several changes to the sign-up and contract acceptance for Canada Western Red Winter (CWRW) Select.

While each component serves a specific purpose, both operate the same way - you receive incentives to grow specific varieties.

2011-12 program details

  • Delivery contract sign-up deadline date for all varieties except CWRW Select – Oct. 31, 2011 or earlier if the tonnage limit is reached
  • Delivery contract sign-up deadline date for CWRW Select is Sept. 30, 2011
  • CWRW Select – spring sign-up is required
  • Warburton program – Spring sign-up is not required

Spring sign-up

IPCP contracts require spring sign-up. The program includes Canada Western Hard White Spring (CWHWS) wheat, Canada Western Extra Strong (CWES) Special wheat, AC Navigator durum, Commander durum, Eurostar durum, Brigade durum and Canada Western Red Winter (CWRW) Select wheat.

Spring sign-up is not required for the Warburton wheat program as it is sourced through a Guaranteed Delivery Contract.

Varietal purity

You are expected to deliver grain that is 95 per cent pure to the variety or varieties specified on the IPCP contract. Failure to do so may result in the CWB assessing liquidated damages.
