Prairie farmers play a pivotal role in putting food on the table of the world and bringing real economic value to the Canadian economy. The 75,000 grain farmers in Western Canada produce between 22 and 24 million tonnes of wheat and barley every year, which is consumed throughout Canada and in more than 70 countries worldwide.
